My classes are going very well. Students have enjoyed our first two painting assignments and are gearing up to do clay.
Please make sure to talk to your child about bringing a pencil to class everyday. Due to several students not having their pencils in 1st period on multiple days, it is now a detention for that class to show up without one on a day when they are needed for work.

I am looking forward to getting to know all of you this semester! I will do my best to teach you lots of basic art skills which we will practice in fun assignments where you can use your creativity. Please check out the “Syllabus” page if you would like to get a heads up on how I run my classroom. I know it can be hard to know what a new teacher expects of you, especially of your behavior, so I have created a page called “Detention” that will help you to understand behaviors to avoid so that you will not ever have to receive a detention in my class. I hope that you will enjoy my class and use all the things that we learn in your other classes and in other areas of your life. Wouldn’t it be helpful to know how to draw and sculpt and create good designs when your social studies teacher assigns a project to you? Wouldn’t interior, fashion, or video game design be interesting career fields? Wouldn’t it be therapeutic to get your emotions and feelings out through a hobby like drawing or painting? Wouldn’t it be cool to “Wow!” your friends with something you made with your own hands? Isn’t there a place for art in your life? I want to get you ready to be able to use art however you want to in the future by teaching you the basics today. Let’s all get ready to learn!
